Here's an opinion:
You want to make it easy for a potential customer to make an initial decision/time commitment, which in your case would be clicking on a nav link to search for what they want.
See if you can reorganize your products into fewer, higher-level categories first.
The symptom is visual clutter, but the culprit lies within the hierarchy of how the information is organized. Given this, visual design changes likely won't be the answer.
