Hi - we are W&P Design (www.wandpdesign.com), a unique food and beverage design and manufacturing company, and we are seeking a talented full time web developer who can take charge of ecommerce development in a fun, fast-paced startup environment. This candidate should be able to undertake the front and back end development of new customized ecommerce sites and manage multiple existing websites on the Shopify platform. Projects will include building and managing new ecommerce sites for a range of industries and users and modifying existing sites as they continue to evolve and require new features. Qualified candidates should include links to your website, design portfolio, and any other relevant media you think we should see. Position is based in Brooklyn, NY. Responsibilities
- Design and develop new Ecommerce websites on the Shopify platform.
- Modify and update existing sites to implement new features and further improve UI/UX.
- Test and optimize sites for desktop, mobile, cross-browser compatibility and SEO.
- Strategize and manage timelines and task management for site launches and updates.
- Work on multiple sites and projects at the same time.
Required Skills
- 3+ years experience web development.
- Experience in Liquid (or Ruby on Rails), jQuery / Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3.
- Experience in AJAX and JSON is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge in cross-browser compatibility (including IE).
- Incorporates best design practices for SEO.
- Continually optimize sites for speed and latest responsive and mobile design techniques.
- Has an impeccable eye for design and maximizing UI/UX for ecommerce standards.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and debugging skills.
- Ability to propose creative and workable solutions to satisfy various needs of the business.
- Operates with a high attention to detail.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
- Manage and allocate tasks and provide accurate timing estimates on projects.
