Need A Developer To Help Password Protect A Collection (not using LockDown) by Rob King

Hi,

I have a shop in development where there is a public (stock items) area, and then individual sports teams will have their own collection/page which needs to be secured in some way. At the moment, I have implemented a solution whereby after login, the user is directed to a specific collection based on a tag assigned to their customer account. This works fine, but as the page will be accessible by each member of the sports team, as they are already logged in they can't then add products and check out with their own credit card and address details.

The LockDown app allows me to secure a collection with a password, but again this is linked to customer accounts, and as we don't know who the customers are yet (only the main team name), this doesn't fit the bill.

The steps needed are as follows:

1. Present new team with URL of collection (or just shop address if accounts/login can be used).

2. They go to site, enter user/pass and are taken to their specific collection.

3. They can add items to basket from that collection and check out, choosing whether to create a customer account or not.

The main difference to the current solutions is that I need each individual collection to have a unique password, and for a successful login to set a cookie without using customer accounts and their tags.

Please contact me for any further information needed.

Cheers,

Rob
