We are looking for some back end development to change the way Shopify displays variant images on our store.
We make interior automotive accessories to order e.g. car mats. We have more than 2,000 individual templates across various makes. Our products are structured whereby the Make = Product and the Model/Year = Variant. For many Makes we have close to 100 variants. As an example, you can see this link here:
What we want to happen is when a customer makes their selection, the shape of their mats appears as a variant image. Currently this is not feasible, as the variant images display below the main product images - for a product with almost 100 variants, this would be overwhelming! We want the variant image to be "hidden" in the background, until such time as the customer makes a selection.
We are told this can be done, however the partner we were dealing with is hopeless and never follows up. Would love to hear from someone interested in this job.
