Grats on the domain name

Providing the email* you want to be contacted at is the first step, as it will get autoresponded to by a lot of providers, just respond to the ones using boilerplate with bad grammar. *you probably want this to be different from your profile email to manage responses better.

I do have a lot of tweaks I'd like to make to the structure of my theme.

For stuff like basic photo editing, copy checking,CSV editing, try fiverr.

Though if you can list "tweaks" as discrete tasks: again fiverr can be useful for basic html, css, javascript. However once you throw in liquid and shopify's platform quirks your increasing time sinks.

There are also several companies now offering packaged services for discrete shopify related theme customization tasks or securing blocks of service per month. I gotta find the cheap ones in my notes later.

For now the pricier services examples are:

I've explored the work I would like done with several North American developers and the quotes I'm getting back are fairly high. At $60-$100 an hour it adds up quickly.

Yes and it's a good way to avoid risk because the fallacy is lower hourly pay == lower costs. Generally, if you don't also have a software|web development background, communicating the business needs will be your biggest source of time loss not the actual coding. The second will be wearing the human-resources-headhunting AND project-mgr hats for someone in another countries time zone.

High level view for future readers:

If your not making enough to pay yourself to implement something, nor enough to justify paying someone who is purposefully experienced to do it then: YAGNI also KISS

There are very few exceptions stopping startups from just launching; create the store -> theme config -> add products -> launch -> income -> funded changes.

Everything else is some sort of need to have X but no proof or reason for what it X is supposed to solve. This is often gadgets|doodads like chatboxes , bloated slideshows etc that completely avoid the hard question: What is the business case?

You only need to spend an afternoon looking through the feedback forum to start cutting tasks that aren't financially justifiable. Or worse have a task to undo a previous task.
