I am the lead developer for a fast-growing Shopify Plus client. We are looking for a developer to join the team part-time (to start). You will mostly be working on our theme, which has some significant customizations in Liquid, CSS and Javascript.
We use Backbone.js to handle lots of custom functionality on the theme so decent Javascript understanding is required, though not necessarily specific experience with Backbone. If you're solid on Liquid/CSS and know you're way around jQuery we can work with that. The client has strong preferences on design/branding and will often provide their own mock-ups. This is not a design role per se, but design sensibilities are a big plus. Small tweaks to the theme should be made within the context of the overall site design and branding. If you must have pixel-by-pixel designs for everything, this isn't the job for you.
The gig is remote and very flexible. The team is fun and laid back. The company is growing fast and there may be opportunities to expand the role in the near future.
