I am in the very starting phase where I have a business idea that I have developed a bit, but not so much more. Obviously I cannot say anything about the actual idea at this point but I am looking for a site that is a platform between provider and buyers of a service, so not a classic ecommerce site. (maybe shopify isn't even good for this kind of purpose, if not please don't hesitate to point me in the right direction!). The look of the site itself could use some of the templates I've seen here, but it needs systems so that the provider and the buyer of services can register and that when a buyer choose a "product" and when and where the service should be done, it can get a choice between different providers. It needs a rating system and a approval system for providers. More details can be discussed later on. Two basic questions at this point:
1. Can this be done using shopify?
2. What is the ballpark cost estimate for this? I can do the content for the site in terms of text and thinking about how things should work together (and probably updating), but I have very limited knowledge about development
