We are looking to build out a new ecommerce platform on Shopify using web services. This will be a replacement for our current store on a different platform (www.pmastore.com) and the web services will be used for data content and fulfillment from a 3rd party. As this is a replacement platform, all of our non-product content is already in place and ready. We are therefore looking to move quickly and would like to switch platforms by Oct 31...more important though is finding the correct developer(s) to ensure a successful platform.
Here is a high-level overview of the process from the 3rd party provider... The CWS offers full access to a suite of rich content. A search engine frontends our database containing all of the data elements including extended titles. Your application posts a query request using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) or HTTP and the results are returned in XML for you to format and display to your specifications on your site. You also have the option to have the results sorted by data elements, including the popularity of the title. CWS was developed using Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET environment and runs on an IIS web server. Your application can use Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) over an HTTP connection or HTTP POST URL.
We are looking for someone who is technically very bright in the areas of Shopify, Web Services (XML and http or SOAP, preferably http), and RoR. Our main area of need is with the writing of the queries and web services piece. Detailed implementation guides and technical support are available from the 3rd party.
