We are currently developing a bi-lingual store.
We have bought and installed the Shopify Ninjas theme as it seemed to do what we needed Re: Language switch and bi-lingual.
The snag with this method and theme is making products bi-lingual.
You need to wrap each "Description" field text in x2 divs with an id of lang1 and lang2. This is no doubt acceptable for stores with fewer than say 50 items perhaps, but becomes cumbersome and inpractible for a store which will have 100s if not 1000+ products.
We are looking for separate meta fields to be added to the "Products" page in Shopify (below or side by side) where each product would have a have a separate: Title, Description, Type and Tags (as well as Meta Page Title and Meta Description). We have had a look at ShopifyFD Metafields and Metafields Editor, neither of which are the solution we can use. Ideally we need extra custom fields adding (as outlined) and the language switch to pickup on the lang1 or lang2 as used in the Shopify Ninja theme (those custom fields for the 2nd language outputted in the separate div perhaps).
